Kids Workshop: Theater Games $180 [Waitlist]

Theater Games will introduce kids (6-9) to the most essential aspect of acting and performance: Play! In this one week workshop, we will explore acting fundamentals such as improv games and movement exercises. Using these games as a foundation we will create a devised performance for parents and friends!

This is an opportunity for young artists to share their creativity with their peers, and see their imagination come to life by collaborating and communicating those ideas. We will focus on supporting one another, practicing being good audience members as well as performers as we watch each other grow.

Scholarships are available: Please don’t hesitate to apply if you need it. Scholarship forms are available here.

Zara Zeidman is an alumni from the WKC Shakespeare program and a graduate of the BFA Acting program at Brooklyn College. Zara is experienced working with kids from her time as an intern at Brighthill Press and her work at afterschool and summer programs. Zara will teach introductory lessons from her improv classes, and is experienced with improv as the President and founder of Brooklyn College’s theater club, Free Association. It is her intention to uplift each individual student in finding their voice, feeling free in their body, and confident in their ideas and ability to perform.

Rose McPheely is planning on majoring in English at college next fall. This will be her fourth year assisting with Theater Games. Rose participated in this same workshop 10 years ago and has continued to be part of the acting programs at WKC since. This summer she will be performing in the Shakespeare in the Valley production of As You Like It. She is looking forward to seeing old and new faces for another great year of Theater Games.
