Her music is a game of country mouse and city mouse, as both love letter to New York City with twinges of post punk as well as a deep bow to her Southern upbringing with heart on sleeve echoing of country melodies. It is a queer and feminist reclamation of space in both art and music. Lastly, Hart seems to revel in her songwriting serving as both the author of critique and a proclamation of love and heartbreak.
